On May 15, 2026, the 2026 China-California Economic Forum was held in California. Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng attended and delivered a keynote speech, calling for deeper science and technology cooperation between the two countries for mutual benefit.
Ambassador Xie noted that California is a hub of American technological innovation, and Silicon Valley brings together world-class talent and cutting-edge technology. China and the US have strong complementarity in information technology, AI, embodied intelligence, biomedicine, low-altitude economy, and new energy storage, and can join forces to advance human technological progress.
Xie emphasized that the essence of China-US economic relations is mutual benefit, and technology cooperation should not be politicized. China stands ready to work with the US based on mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation to promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral economic relations. He added that China will continue to expand high-level opening-up and provide a better business environment for companies from all countries, including American enterprises.
During the forum, over 500 political and business representatives from both countries discussed the digital economy, green development, and supply chain cooperation. UCAHP leadership and board members attended the forum and engaged in broad exchanges with participants on China-US talent exchange and technology cooperation.
